What does a bump up do?
This feature moves the Ad from its current position in the listings back up to the top of the listings on the first page, just below any Top Ads. It will remain there until other Ads are posted in the category, at which point the Ad will move down in the listings.
Ads on the first page of a category get more visitors and more replies than Ads on other pages. Bumping your Ad is the most inexpensive way to get more visibility to your Gumtree Ad. Making your Ad a Top Ad, however, will give you even more visibility since it will stay in the Top Ads section for up to a week.
NOTE: In the Events and Tickets category ads are listed according to event date and not time/date of posting like the other categories. So if you buy a 'bump up' feature in the Events and Tickets category this feature will only act as a 'Repost' feature meaning if you purchase a 'bump up' in Events and Tickets categories it prolongs the life of the ad and resets it to expire in 60 days but still shows the ad in its relevant place in the category pages according to its event date.
How can I purchase a bump up?
You can only purchase a bump up feature after an ad is posted. To promote an existing Ad with a bump up feature, click the "Edit" link found in the email that was sent to you when you posted an Ad. Then check off the bump up option and pay accordingly. Alternatively, you can purchase a bump up using the "Promote" link found on the My Ads page in My Gumtree.
What categories can I bump up my Ad in?
You can purchase a bump up in all categories except for the "community > events" and "community > garage sales" categories. This is because those categories are sorted by event date, not posting date.
How much does it cost to buy a bump up?
While posting Ads on Gumtree is free, bumping up your Ad costs a small fee. Fees vary by category and city . Note: The cost to buy a bump up may change at any time.

What is the difference between bump ups and Top Ads?
